THE BATTLE OF SEXES - ONYEKABA CHIOMA ROSEMARY

WOMEN RISE UP TO YOUR RIGHTS! LET NO ONE RIP YOU OFF IT!

Women are the pride of every country and Nigeria in this case shouldn't be an exemption. Our people’s creativity and entrepreneurial spirit has provided leadership for Nigeria and by so doing it has granted us the grace to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
Today, I am even more than proud to be called a woman because the struggle of most feminists both living and dead, has finally yielded results to a reasonable extent in Nigeria especially after the inauguration of President Goodluck EBELE Jonathan who gave us more than a sense of belonging in the society, which I believe shows his high level of education, experience and exposure.
I was really baffled to hear that in this modern age a man who has been in the throne of power for many years; a man who has experienced the rapid development and changes that has fast taken over Nigeria; a man who claims to be educated, although without certificate; a man who claims he has the benefit of his people at heart; a man who claims he is hale and hearty and above all a man who wants to rule a modern age generation at his mid seventies, would dare to voice and worse still nurture in his heart to abrogate the first lady’s office if he gets the nod to become Nigeria’s leader in 2015. How ridiculous?
What pained me most is that he made such comments and women barely reacted. Haba! Where is that zeal and passion to have a right to at least do  certain things in a male-dominated country? Where is that cry for sensitivity from the male folk? Where is that strength of  a woman that can move mountains? Where is that sparkle, that flame that boils from the inside at  the mere thought of being called weaklings and at the slightest feeling of neglection? Women speak for our dear sakes!
Do you wish to return to the same place where you began? I don't think that anyone would love to go back to slavery after having a full taste of freedom....I for one will be the last to desire such...... Now that we know better, shall we sit back and allow a weak and ill person to take all we've suffered for years to gain, away from us?

Let us jointly reinvent the wheels and call for restoration.Women have risen against injustice and oppression. We exemplified it in the Aba women's riot of 1929 and we can still do more now that our tail has been tampered with although this time we do not need violence. Just pick up your voters and vote PDP. We are a race of great people, We have always been the trail blazers. We can do it!

The federal legislature is an arena for ideals and ideas that shape the character of the nation, the slab for the dissection and sharing of the national cake and where the template for national growth is created for good governance in the manner to guarantee equity and fairness with concomitant peace and prosperity for the nation. It is not a place for ill-patients and Jailers. It is time for the restoration of our pride of place.
There is still time to transform things for our own good. Make GEJ YOUR VAL on the 14th of February 2015 and Remain in Freedom forever.
JOIN PDP to promote and sponsor laws that will enhance the dignity of humanity, Nigerians, and the Igbo in Nigeria and the Diaspora.

VOTE PDP 2015
