Why Nigerians should vote for Jonathan – Adebanjo

In a telephone chat with Daily Independent, he  said a vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, may spell doom for the country because he (Buhari) will jettison the report of the conference since his party, APC, neither believed in nor participated in the conference.
Adebanjo, who was a delegate at the conference added that the APC has not mentioned anything about the conference in their campaigns and manifesto which implies that they will throw it out if voted into office.
According to him, the fact that President Jonathan summoned the courage to convene the conference which past rulers had shied away from shows that “the president is passionate about keeping Nigeria as a one united entity”.
He therefore appealed to Nigerians to give him their mandate for another four years so that he can implement its report, which according to him, will set Nigeria on the path of greatness and unite it.
“For me, I am not a PDP man and I am not a member of APC but for the purpose of the convocation of National Conference, I want him to come back as president. He is the only person who can implement the outcome of the national conference.
“Any other region, be it in the North or South who wants the conference to be implemented, to vote for any other person than Jonathan, it means they will truncate the over four months of our existence at the conference.  Our  efforts will be a waste. Are you going to ask those who opposed the conference to come and implement it? No other president will implement those things. It is common sense”.
“I believe Buhari will not implement the report of the conference. His party, APC, is opposed to the conference. If they truly love Nigeria, why were they opposed to the conference?  And their national leader even called it a Greek gift. If they were going to implement it, what are they saying about it in their campaign? This is one of the things that we believe can keep Nigeria together,” he said.
