We have certainly left where we were but the journey
to where we want to be is greatly tasking but, confident as I am in the
Nation’s pilot, I urge Nigerians to vote wisely.
Under President Jonathan’s Government Agric
Reforms, Nigeria has become a leading producer of rice in Africa. Nigeria has reduced its food imports by over 40% as of 2013, moving the
country closer to self sufficiency in food security.
The corruption in the fertilizer and seed sector(s)
was/were tackled strategically to the national and international acclaim of
GEJ’s government. This enabled farmers increased access to subsidized
fertilizers; otherwise denied by entrenched corrupt practices.
The Growth Enhancement Scheme (GES) and Electronic
Wallets that were made available to reach millions of farmers in order to
better their access to farm input. This in turn strengthened the private sector
growth. This unprecedented approach has positively impacted on agricultural
growth with the massive expansion in job opportunities and the globally
acknowledged growth in our private sector driven economy.
The current administration under President
Goodluck Jonathan’s leadership revolutionized the unhealthy expenditure on rice
importation through an import substitution policy which has inched the nation
closer to self-sufficiency in rice.
GEJ
has taken off, let him carry-on accordingly!! #GEJWinsIt
